The Flint House, Waddesdon

On this project, which won the RIBA ‘House of the Year’ award in 2015, we worked with structural engineers EHRW and M&E specialists Max Fordham to develop the drainage design, having already worked on the nearby Waddesdon Archive buildings.

The focus was on developing the most discreet drainage layout possible in order not to detract from the unique architecture by Charlotte Skene Catling.

The house and its adjacent pavilion have a package sewage treatment plant and a circulating water feature provides flow through a grotto that divides the main house whilst also providing firefighting water given the remote setting of the house.
