For this project we were subconsultants to Structural Engineers Thornton Tomasetti; dealing with all the drainage and external works elements. The Architect was Steven Marshall Architects.

The facility comprises an archive, reading room and associated office space to allow study of the impressive Rothschild historical collection. There are widespread external spaces and landscaping to accommodate the development in its remote rural setting.

We have developed an extensive drainage network incorporating recycling of all the roofwater for use in toilet flushing, irrigation and water features. A new sewage treatment system has been provided, picking up the flow from the adjacent farm in order to remove an existing septic tank system.

The exacting architectural aspirations have resulted in a drainage scheme that is very discreet and carefully detailed. This level of detail continues through to the paving scheme and water features, which we have helped to develop and coordinate in conjunction with the Architect and landscape architects The Landscape Agency.
